Angola class is now on Friday

Angoleiros, starting in June (this week), we’ve moved our Angola training to Friday 9pm-10.30pm to accommodate some of our students who couldn’t make it previously. Newbies and angoleiros from out of town are more than welcome to drop in for a class (Just show up in your yellow t-shirt and black track bottoms/training pants). See ya on yer heads on Friday! :-)

Here comes the wedded capoeiristas…

We take great joy in announcing the happy matrimony of two of our capoeiristas who found love while sweating it out during training. Please join us in congratulating Careca (Sam) and CamarĂ£o (Veron) on their joyous occasion yesterday.

Here’s proof.

Just for the record, we love weddings! It’s really one of those occasions where we capoeiristas get to see one another outside our sweaty abadas and smelly t-shirts or casual togs. (And this wedding won’t be the last in our group either. ;-) ) So here’s a rare glimpse of our own contra-mestre looking very dapper in his formal getup.

Here’s the info again on fees

We received some feedback that the link to fees sometimes doesn’t work. So here it is again (please don’t bother to email us ‘coz we rather you just show up for class if you’re really interested.) If you have questions, go to the FAQs.

One-time registration fee (applies to both adults/children): $50 (includes a free Bantus T-shirt)

Paying your registration fee qualifies you for automatic membership (except for categories indicated by * where a different criteria applies) and therefore, members’ rates. However, membership is granted only by invitation.

Members, please note: If you are absent from training for a period of 6 months or more (without informing us), you will have to re-register and pay a registration fee of $30 before you can enjoy our monthly fee rates again. Exception: Bantus NSF members.

Unlimited: (For Bantus members only)

Pay before your first lesson. Fees are valid for classes for that calendar month. No refund.

$120 per month (for students/NSF)

$150 per month (for working adults)

Casual class:

Applicable to non-Bantus members* eg. first-timers wanting to drop in for a class, short-term foreign students studying in Singapore, students from other capoeira schools training with us, short-term expats working in Singapore. To qualify for members’ rates, please talk to us.

Flat rate: $20 per class

Please note: Student rates only apply to NSF/secondary school/polytechnic/full-time undergraduate tertiary students (not part-time tertiary undergraduates or graduate students doing their Masters/PhDs) who have paid their registration fees. Please show proof by way of your matriculation pass, student pass etc when asked. Otherwise you will be required to pay adult fees.

Fees may be adjusted periodically at the discretion of the school.
